Dance Groups & Music
"The Youthie" tries to cater for a wide range of music & dance tastes. There are regular offerings as well as special events presented at great cost.

The Seaham Youth Centre Dance Group rehearses at the Centre three times a week on Saturday morning and every Monday and Thursday afternoon. A Dance Group representative says,
"We were established ten years ago. Our success has been outstanding. Over the years we have attracted a wide range of young and teenage children. The youngest member of the group is only four years old whilst some of the "old" hands are seventeen years old.
The dance group get together as a whole group once a week. We pride ourselves that the training advice and supervision we provide for our members is of a very high standard. We regularly participate in competition with other youth club dance groups from around the area, dancing in solo, doubles and team tournaments.
Whilst taking there activities very seriously, we are neither professionals nor part of a commercial dance school. We simply love dancing and enjoy associating with others who share the same interest.

The disco theme is carried on into the club and disco's and 'Roller Disco's' have featured regularly.

Other musical taste is catered for at the Club through special events which range from sophistication o f the Seaham Youth Orchestra through to Heavy Metal bands, Synthesizer bands and rave discos.
