CLINICS
Anti-Coagulation Clinic
This clinic is for patients who are taking Warfarin medication and was established
to avoid repeated journeys to hospital. It is held on a weekly basis
and is run by Dr Asha Kapoor and a Nurse.
Diabetic Clinic
The diabetic clinic is held alternate weeks and provides comprehensive care
for diabetic patients. You will be offered blood sugar checks, dietary
advice, blood pressure examinations and a full ‘check up’ once a year.
It is a one-stop clinic which means once a month the chiropodist, dietician
and GP are also present at the clinic.
On an annual basis we hold a series of educational seminars to educate and
update diabetic patients. The seminars cover in-depth advice on foot
care, diet, eye screening, treatment and medication.
Asthma Clinic
The clinic is designed to educate asthmatic patients on their condition,
to ensure that you are taking your treatment correctly and that your condition
is controlled. It is important that all asthmatic patients attend the
clinic at least once a year.
Anti-Smoking Clinic
The clinic is run by trained smoking cessation advisors to encourage help
and support patients in stopping smoking.
Well Woman/Menopause Clinic
Wednesday afternoon by appointment
This clinic is run by the doctor/practice nurse for women of all ages.
Patients are offered advice on breast examinations, blood pressure checks,
urine checks, tetanus immunisation, cervical smears and an opportunity to
discuss any relevant problems. Advice on the menopause and pre-conception
is also offered. Patients who are taking hormone replacement therapy
must attend the clinic every six months to have a check up.
Cervical Smears
We recommend that smears be taken every three years (unless advised otherwise).
This can be carried out by either the doctor or the practice nurse.
Blood Pressure
Friday 9.30 a.m. – 10.30 a.m. – Hypertension Clinic
If you suffer from hypertension it is important that you have your blood
pressure checked regularly. Please make an appointment to have this
checked every six months.
Coronary Heart Disease Prevention And Rehabilitation
Monday 9.00 a.m. – 12 noon
This clinic is for patients who have heart problems including angina, or
who have suffered from a heart attack or stroke. The practice nurse
runs the clinic and as well as offering you a check up she will provide you
with expert advice and support.
