Introduction

Seaham School is a mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11 to 16, with approximately 1200 pupils on roll. It is the only comprehensive school in the town, and so it caters for the vast majority of 11 to 16 year olds from the Seaham area.

Seaham School swimmimg pool The school occupies a large site adjacent to the Town Park. It has extensive facilities, including well-equipped laboratories and workshops, a library and resouces centre, a hall with a large stage, a swimming pool and a sports hall.





Our Aims

The school emphasises learning and hard work, self-reliance and responsibility. Pupils are encouraged to treat others with compassion and understanding and with due regard for each others welfare and property. We aim to develop each pupils potential to the full and to promote talents of all kinds.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Seaham School Seaham School offers many opportunities for pupils to take part in a wide range of sporting and recreational activities.
The school is highly regarded for its annual productions on stage and the developing music department has spawned a very professional "Blues Band".
We encourage pupils to be generous and we actively support a number of charitiessuch as Children in Need, N.S.P.C.C. and the Save the Children Fund.


The Friends of Seaham School

This association was formed with the aim of developing good relationships between the school and the wider community. It is made up of parents, teachers, pupils and interested members of the community. We hold various fund raising events and educational evenings over the academic year and we always welcome support. Over the past few years, we have helped the school to purchase a minibus, musical instruments (pictured) and sports trips.

Past activities include a barbeque, 50 / 50 discos, a craft fayre, a "Sixties Night", a ceilhidh, a family sports night, a long weekend in Paris, a Quiz Night, an educational "Question Time" and a 24-hour sponsored disco.
