The Seaham Hall & Lodge Cottage Plaque

SEAHAM HALL.
The present Seaham Hall is on an ancient site and incorporates parts of the old manor house which was built by Sir Ralph Milbanke and his wife.
The central portion of the Hall to day is part of the old manor building which was further extended by the Londonderry family in the 19th century.
The Hall became a hospital an oldpeoples home and then a hotel and conference centre.

THE LODGE COTTAGE.
The Lodge Cottage was originally built as a toll house in 1834 and then became a private house after 1855 using the original style.
During a planned archeological dig in 1997 a number of undisturbed human burials were found in the garden of the Lodge.
