SEAHAM HALL.
The present Seaham Hall is on an ancient site
and incorporates parts of the old manor house which was built by Sir Ralph
Milbanke and his wife.
The central portion of the Hall to day is part
of the old manor building which was further extended by the Londonderry
family in the 19th century.
The Hall became a hospital an oldpeoples home
and then a hotel and conference centre.
THE LODGE COTTAGE.
The Lodge Cottage was originally built as a toll
house in 1834 and then became a private house after 1855 using the original
style.
During a planned archeological dig in 1997 a
number of undisturbed human burials were found in the garden of the Lodge.
