Young Rugby Stars Taste Success

Young Rugby Stars Taste Success 29 April 2008 Houghton Rugby Club under-14 team are reckoned the best sqaud the club has had at this age for many a year. They have had a great season and recently won the Ron Mitten Memorial Trophy. Five of the team are Seaham lads who play at Houghton because Seaham Rugby Club are unable offer a regular game for lads of this age. The Seaham players are Matty Barrow, Adam Taylor. Andrew Crosby, Nicky Thompson and Louis Davison (seen holding the trophy). Louis' dad Norman Page said, "We are all absolutely thrilled about the win. It is important for youngsters to get the opportunity to play organised team sports. It builds character and gives the lads an interest which keeps them occupied and out of trouble. I would personally like to thank Houghton Rugby Club for providing these opportunities for Louis and the other Seaham lads." Article by: Ed Mason
