Beachcomber Care Home  




'Beachcomber" opened its doors to the elderly of Seaham in 1985 and since that time it has enjoyed good occupancy and community support.

The Home has a committed staff who maintain high standards of care and give freely of their time to promote links within the community.

 Private and State assisted stays are welcome. There are no hidden charges and financially assisted residents will get their full personal allowance.

Respite care is offered when accommodation is available.

Registered and inspected by the Commission for Social Care Inspection ensures maintenance of high standards. A Quality Assurance Internal Audit System is maintained.  Recent inspection reports are available on the internet.

The owners have taken further steps to monitor standards by joining the Registered Nursing Homes Association and residents and their families have access to these governing bodies and the Ombudsman should they require further information or have any cause for complaints.

The registration of the Home caters for the elderly (over 65 years) needing care.

"Beachcomber" Is an adapted and extended family home which enjoys panoramic sea views and has the advantage of a quiet garden area.

"Beachcomber' has 32 single and 2 companion rooms all with central heating, wash-hand basins and within easy reach of bathrooms and w.c.'s.

Traditionally furnished to provide a safe and comfortable atmosphere and conform to all Fire and Safety Regulations. The recent decorative update was the choice of our present residents.

Smoking for residents and visitors is restricted to designated areas.

Bathrooms and w.c's. are fully adapted for disabled use and access to the first floor is by hydraulic lift.
