Exercise is essential for good health; unfortunately research has found most of us don't do enough.

Exercise is important for your health and can help you:

Lose weight and improve your shape Strengthen your heart and improve your circulation Increase your mobility Reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes and osteoporosis Improve mental well being Feel more relaxed Feel Good

The "Get Active Exercise Referral Programme" is designed to provide the opportunity for everyone in the District to have a healthier lifestyle by offering safe, supervised, appropriate exercise options. Access to facilities will be at a reduced rate and some activities are free. You can also take a partner or friend to exercise with you also at a reduced rate. The programme is run by a Health and Fitness Development Officer at the local leisure centre.

If you are intersted please ask your GP whether the programme would be suitable for you.
