CHILDREN’S HERITAGE VISITS
On our way to the old school we also popped into the “Coop” or Cooperative Wholesale Society to give it the proper name. Our grandparents used to call this shop. “The Store” was where Nana did most of her shopping but there were always queues as the lady behind the counter served everything from the shelves. Today everyone serves themselves then goes to the Check-out to pay.
We also visited the building where the horse-drawn carriages and the horses are kept. We all enjoyed that and wished that we still had horse-drawn carriages to ride in.
