           WELCOME
               This is Seaham Wednesday AFC
Seaham Wednesday FC was in existence for only ten years but in that time it made its mark on Seaham's sporting history.  The club's signings included no less a celebrity than the Roker legend Len "Shack" Shackleton himself but there were others who played for the Wednesdays who have become well known both locally and nationally.
The club existed to provide playing opportunities for footballers who lived or worked in Seaham and couldn't play on Saturday or Sunday afternoons because of their work commitments.  They played in the Ryhope and District Wednesday League in the late 1950s onwards.
The purpose of this web site is to research, locate and record as much as we can about Seaham Wednesday Football Club.
We have some photographs but often can't identify the players. We will be seeking your help to identify as many players as possible who played for the club and we want you to send us your stories.
