SEAHAM MINING HERITAGE PROJECT  -  HLF # SG-03-51109

HLF LOGOSDVT Banner Fund  have been awarded a grant of £26,000 by the Heritage Lottery Fund towards their  Mining Heritage Project which is valued at over £35,000 in total. We will do our best to keep you up to date with what is happening month by month.  Please log in and follow our progress.  A lot of work  has already gone into planning the project and making the application.

We have set up a Project  Working Group to manage the project.

The main aims of the project are: 

  •  to engage as many townspeople as possible in all aspects of their heritage through the heritage activities of infant children. 
  •  to have the Vane Tempest Lodge Banner  repaired and conserved for the benefit of future generations.
  •  to seek ways of  sustaining the acheivements of the project
  •  to make the lessons and learning that arise from the project available to the wider community of Seaham.

We will do our best to provide you with an up-to-date commentary on some of the main elements of the project, month-by-month, as it progresses.
